Hi, I’m Cindy, and I am *gulp* an ARTIST!

Honestly, this is a huge thing for me to admit. Even though I’ve spent most of my life working and teaching with works of art and connecting deeply with art that others have made, I’ve kept making my own art at a safe arms-length away.

I was committed to the story that I wasn’t creative or talented enough and that I didn’t have enough good ideas to truly be an “artist.” Anytime I tried to start making art again over the years, I would be quickly thwarted by overwhelm, sky-high expectations, and perfectionism.

But in 2022, something changed. I felt the call to make art loud and clear, so I made the commitment–one day at a time, one page in my art journal at a time. I made a space in my house for making art, and I developed accountability by scheduling artmaking and creating new habits. Then, I allowed myself to play. To experiment. To create without expectation and without perfection. And what happened was massivejoy, gratitude, connection, reconnection with my inner child, expansion, and confidence.

Ultimately, I started making art again because I chose to make it a priority.

Are you ready to make that choice for yourself?

This year, commit to your regular creative practice.

Join the Creativity Cocoon.

Any art teacher will tell you that the secret to making art is practice and time on task. The more time you spend making art, the more it will become a part of your thinking, the more the way you look at the world will change, and the more benefits you will see bleed into your life—a sense of wellbeing, lower stress levels, increased focus, and more awareness. You’ll slow down, you’ll learn to feel and express your feelings, and you’ll calm your mind.

What’s Included

Artmaking Sessions (2x/week)

During these coworking sessions, we each work on our own personal art explorations together via Zoom. Peppered with natural conversation and connection, this time also deepens the bonds formed with the group members.

Creative Intentions Session (1x/week)

Every Monday, we meet to reflect on and set intentions for the week. We have circle check ins and check outs, but the rest of the call is silent so it gives us a chance to turn inward.

Virtual Community

Participate in our private Facebook Group to chat with your peers, ask for advice on media or techniques, share your artworks and inspirations, and respond to the creative challenges.

Art & Self Workshop (1x/month)

Each month, Cindy leads you through an interactive session designed to connect your with your most creative self. These sessions are about deeply understanding yourself as a creator, rather than learning art techniques.

FAQs

Do I need to have art making experience to join this program?

No! This program is for anyone willing to explore their own creative expression. Every participant will work on their own personal projects in each artmaking session so each artist will be working at their own experience level.

Will this program teach art media, skills, and techniques?

No, it won’t but you are welcome to ask in the sessions for tips and suggestions as you face challenges. We encourage you to experiment and explore the art media for yourself. Be free and have fun, and don’t worry about your final outcome!

What if I am scared to share my art? Do I have to?

No! I know that sharing your own art is such a vulnerable thing. At the end of each artmaking session, we talk about what we created in the time, but you are under no obligation to show what you did.

What if I can't make a session?

The Cocoon is here to support you, so come whenever you feel called. Think of it as a delicious buffet that you can sample anytime you want. The calls alternate times each week so that members from different time zones can find times that work for them.

The teaching calls will be recorded, and you will have access to those recordings in an online portal.

What if it's not a fit for me?

Feel free to leave whenever you like! Due to the nature of the program, no refunds will be issued; however, you can cancel your membership anytime you need to. And of course, we’ll be happy to welcome you back whenever you are ready.

How much is it?

The price is currently $49/month.
